This summer, I have been working to raise money for two great causes that benefit kids not as fortunate as many of us. Good progress has been made; I am happy to report that I have raised nearly 70% of the goal, thereby enabling more than a hundred boys and girls take their own steps in being able to go to school and to being in good health. Eureka Child, an AID India initiative, tackles this challenge head on. Over the past decade, the EurekaChild initiative has developed numerous creative learning modules for reading, math and the sciences. In 2006, as part of a Govt supported pilot program, AID India reached out to 450,000 children in 7000 schools across Tamil Nadu. The program met with dramatic success - within 6 months reading ability improved from 50% to 80%!

Eureka Child Scale Up Inspired by the pilot's success AID is now poised to scale up this initiative and reach out to the 10 million children in Tamil Nadu to then expand to other parts in India. The program maximizes the use of government infrastructure, a key to long term sustainability. This also reduces the costs dramatically.
Cost: Less than $1 per child - $150 per school
